How to obtain a marriage certificate :
Local Persons:
Each person applying for a marriage certificate needs to fill out an application form.

Where to get the application form?:
Forms can be obtained at the main office in Kingstown or district post offices and revenue offices throughout the country.

Information required to obtain death certificates (as indicated on form) :
** Christian names and surname of bride
** Christian names and surname of groom
** Date of marriage
** Place of birth
** Name of Applicant
** Identification number of applicant
** Address of applicant
** Contact Number of applicant
** Relationship of applicant to the persons whose marriage certificate is required

All Application Forms Must Be Certified. Please Note The List Of Persons Who Can Do So:
1. Justice of the Peace
2. Notary Public
3. Magistrate
4. Marriage Officer
5. Lawyer /Solicitor
6. Member of Parliament
7. Police Officer of Gazetted Rank

Who can apply for a Marriage Certificate?:
Anyone can apply for a marriage certificate for any other party. The identity of the applicant is stored in our database.

Where to obtain certificates?:
Certificates can be obtained at the Civil Registry Department in Kingstown.

Each birth certificate cost EC $15.00 and are issued immediately

Overseas persons:
Applications are accepted in writing to the Registrar with the following information:
** Name and surname of bride
** Name and surname of groom
** Date of marriage
** Place of marriage

Further, a money order to cover the cost of the certificate (EC $15.00), and postage, should be included. The money order should be payable to “The Accountant General”. Ensure that a return address is submitted.

What is a non marriage certificate?
When you plan to marry abroad, many countries will require you to produce a document which declares that you are not married in your country of birth. This document is referred to in St. Vincent and the Grenadines as a non marriage certificate.

How to obtain a a non marriage certificate?
All persons applying for a non marriage certificate need to fill out a birth application form and write non marriage at the top of the form. These applications forms must be submitted at the Civil Registry Office in Kingstown. Forms can be obtained at the main office in Kingstown or post offices and revenue offices.
