Worker Welfare Fund :

WWF is providing free of cost education to workers’ children through 116 schools/colleges established by it. More than 72,258 children of workers have benefited from these schools/colleges, where the students get free of cost education, books, uniforms and transport facility.

Eligibility Criteria for getting benefits out of WWF:
** Worker must fulfill the definition of “Workman” as prescribed in IRA-2008.
** Registration with EOBI or Employee Social Security Institutions
** Minimum 3 years service in any Industrial Unit (this condition is not applicable in case of death grant and admission in schools)

Education Sector:
This scheme has been started in the major industrial citieslike Lahore, Faisalabad and Karachi. Under this scheme children of workers who get admission in any public/private school, their tuition fee will be paid directly to the school. All other expenses including books, stationary , uniform and transport facilities will also be provided.

Financing of Students at Public/Private Schools:
WWF is providing services to the industrial workers in the areas of housing, education and health, besides which, financial assistance is also being extended in the form of death grant, marriage grant and post-matric educational scholarships.

Another scheme has been started initially in six districts of Punjab, including Okara, Nankana Sahib, Jhang, Attock, Sahiwal and Hafizabad.

Post Matric Scholarships (Per Month):
Cat-I: (Rs.) 1600
a) Cadet Colleges/ Public Schools being run by the Federal or a Provincial Government.
b) Intermediate or equivalent course from Federal or a Provincial Board of Education or any other institution re-cognized by the Federal / Provincial Governments.
c) Technical Training Institutes registered with Provincial Board of Technical & Vocational Education / Provincial TEVTAS / NTB / NEVTEC.

Cat-II : (Rs.) 2500
Graduation Degree (of two/ four year’s duration) from a Public or Private University or College / Institution affiliated with them, duly recognized by HEC.

Cat-III : (Rs.) 3500
a) Post Graduation Degree from a Public or Private University or a College / Institution affiliated with them, duly recognized by HEC.
b) Degree from an Engineering University / Medical College registered with HEC as well as by the Pakistan Engineering Council or PMDC, as the case may be.

All expenses of these students, viz-a-viz admission fee, tuition fee, transport charges, hostel/ messing charges, registration fee, examination fee, library fee, lab fee, computer fee in respect of workers’ children, who get admission on merit will be paid out of WWF. However, no subscriptions, charity funds or securities (refundable or non-refundable) will be paid by WWF. For continuation of scholarship the student must have min Degree qualifying CGPA of the concerned University, in the current semester, to continue in the next semester. In case the student fails to obtain the requisite GPA/CGPA the WWF will not be liable to pay the expenditure whatsoever for the remaining period of study.

Matric-Tech Programme Initiated in WWB Schools with following trades:
Trades for Boys:
Welding, Electrician, Plumbing & Sanitary Installer, Auto CAD & Draftsman (Civil), Computer, Qty Surveyor and Steel Fixer.

Trades for Girls:
Beautician & Skin care, Tailoring, Knitting & Embroidery, Office Secretary & Computer Operator. (1,033 children of workers will benefit from pilot project started in 14 schools)

Stipend @ Rs.3,000/- P.M. Per Trainee (For Workers And Their Children ) At Atin Mandra, Ctti And Ntb, Islamabad.

Other Welfare Measures:
Marriage Grant (Rs. 70,000):
129,916 daughters of workers have been benefitted from Marriage Grants.

Death Grant (Rs. 300,000):
9,620 families of deceased workers have been compensated through Death Grants.

Distribution of Tricycles:
386 Tricycles have been distributed among the workers/their family members who are unable to walk.

  • A worker employee also having registered with EOBI, in case of Death are they eligible to get any financial benefits? Please help me.
