What is Financial Support For Fostering a Child?
This financial support is provided to families fostering one or more children, provided that these children are under the age of three at the moment of filing the application for the support. The support is provided as a lump sum in the maximum amount of 400 EUR per each foster child.
Requirements of Financial Support For Fostering a Child
The support is granted based on the relevant documentation which proves that the following requirements are simultaneously met:
** One of the parents and/or the child in the family is a Croatian citizen
** One of the parents and/or the child in the family has permanent residence in the Republic of Croatia
How To Apply For Financial Support For Fostering a Child in Croatia?
You can file the apllication for the support with the enclosed documentation in several ways:

** By sending an e-mail with all of the documenation to the e-mail address: potpore.fo@zhzd.hr.
Documents Required For Financial Support For Fostering a Child
For the purpose of exercising your right to the support and proving that you meet the aforementioned requirements to be granted the support, you need to submit the following documents:
** a validly filled in and signed application for the support (Documents)
** A photocopy of the current account card (both sides) of the applicant for the support (the bank name, name and surname of the current account holder and IBAN have to be visible)
** A photocopy of the ID card (both sides) of one of the parents in the family
** A certificate from the District Office of the Croatian Social Welfare Institute on the number of foster children under the age of three, which certificate is no more than 30 days old
** An official opinion from the foster parent’s District Office of the Croatian Social Welfare Institute on the equipment the beneficiary needs.
Financial Support of the “Croatia for Children” Foundation For Natural Persons:
The “Croatia for Children” Foundation is providing financial support to natural person, that is, families in need. The Foundation provides different types of support, all of which are aimed at meeting various needs of children or families. The types of financial support provided by the Foundation to natural persons are:
** Financial support for multiple births
** Financial support for each foster child under the age of three
** Financial support for children living with illness, children with health disorders and children with developmental disabilities
** Financial support for gifted children
** Financial support for children in the education system
** Financial support for everyday subsistence needs of children
** Financial support for children leaving social care
** Financial support for families whose financial situation was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic
