What is the e-Filing Portal?
The e-Filing Portal is an initiative of the Brunei Judiciary and has been designed to serve as a one-stop portal for the legal community to gain access to all its needs ranging from registration of cases, filing of case documents, retrieval of service document right down to searching of case files and information including case schedules.

Previously lawyers have to call the registrar for the status of their case filing. Now the e-Filing portal will send notification of any case filing status to the lawyers’ email immediately upon successful registration in the e-Filing System.

Why e-Filing?
e-Filing developed following from the need to improve efficiency both for the legal community and also the judiciary.

The benefits of e-Filing are as follows :
** Concurrent access to case documents, 24 Hours, 7 days a week.
** Interactive alerts, notifications & e-mails.

** Cost-effective storage of files in digital format.
** Options of submitting from anywhere; no more queues.
** Achieve greater automation & end-to-end computerisation of court processes.

** Improve efficiency in management & administration of court related matters.
** Eliminate incidences of missing files.
** Allows counsel to file court document from anywhere; without queuing

e-Filing Equipment Requirements :
Hardware :
1. PC with Windows XP and Above with at least 2GB RAM
2. Printer
3. Scanner (which can produce PDF file compatible with e-Filing System)

Software :
1. Microsoft Word (Version 2010 Recommended). Optional
2. Mozilla Firefox. Download Here
3. Adobe Acrobat Reader V. 8 or Higher. Download Here
4. Internet Service (Eg: TelBru, TIME) with at least 2 Mbps [depend on office network utilization]
5. JAVA 1.6.0_21 and above.

No Service Bureau filings :
** The Judiciary Will No Longer Accept Filings Through The Service Bureaus From Law Firms With Effect From 6Th March 2017.
** All Filings Are To Be Made Using The Electronic Filing System.

Guide To Accessing Laws And Regulations :
1. Enter .agc.gov.bn into the URL box of your web browser. Click on LEGISLATION ON-LINE on the homepage or under the Services drop down menu. It will take you to the Legislation homepage. Alternatively, enter .agc.gov.bn/AGC%20Site%20Pages/Legislation%20On-Line.aspx in the URL box of your web browser.

2. To SEE A LIST of all laws and orders, follow the steps below Click on List Of Laws Of Brunei Darussalam. Then, click on Acts, Orders & Enactments

3. To begin your search, click on a letter of the alphabet at the bottom of the ACTS, ORDERS & ENACTMENTS page. It will take you to the list of Laws beginning with selected letter.

4. Scroll through the list to view the available Acts or Orders and related amendments. Principal Acts or Orders will be listed in capital and bold letters in the first column. Immediately below the name of the principal Act or Order, there will be listed related amendments to the principal Act or Order. The second column shows the chapter number for Acts or the relevant Government Gazette number for Orders and Amendment Orders. The third column shows the commencement date. The fourth column shows the latest revised version of the principal Act or Order.

Note :
** This page will only give you a list of the Laws of Brunei Darussalam in alphabetical order together with related amendments. You will have to visit another page to VIEW the Acts or Orders.

5. To VIEW ACTS, return to the LEGISLATION ON-LINE homepage in step 1. The Acts will be listed in accordance with the chapter number. Click on the name of the Act to view and/or download the Act.

6. To VIEW ORDERS, return to the LEGISLATION ON-LINE homepage in step 1. The Orders will be listed in alphabetical order. Click on the name of the Order to view and/or download the Act.

7. To VIEW AMENDMENTS, make sure that you have noted the Government Gazette number. For example, for the Penal Code (Amendment) Order 2012, the Government Gazette number is S26/2012. 2012 is the publication year of the Gazette. 26 is the publication number of the Amendment Order within the relevant year’s Gazette.
