Current Account, Savings, Loan and Credit Card customers :
** To use Online Banking you need to register first.
** The guide below takes you through the registration process.

To register, you’ll need :
** Account number and sort code, or
** Credit card number – this is the large 16 digit number across the front of your credit card

Step 1 : Register from our website
** Go to .tescobank.com and click ‘Register now’.
** You can register from our homepage or anywhere else on the site as we’ve highlighted below.**

Step 2 : Identify yourself
** We’ll ask you to enter some information so we can identify you, including your name, date of birth and postcode.
** We’ll ask you to select your product and provide your account information, which will either be your
** Credit card number – this is the large 16 digit number across the front of your credit card, or
** ** Loan account number and sort code

Step 3 : Choose how to receive your Temporary Security Number
** A Temporary Security Number is a code we use as a security measure to confirm your identity
** You can choose to get this by text message or by post.
** If you choose text message, and you’ve already provided your mobile phone number, you’ll get your Temporary Security Number straight away.
** If you choose post, or we don’t have your mobile number, we’ll send the Temporary Security Number by first class post and you won’t be able to complete registration until you have it.
** You should receive it within 3-6 working days.

Step 4 : Enter your Temporary Security Number
** We’ll ask you to confirm your Temporary Security Number.
** If you have chosen receiving your Temporary Security Number by a text message and didn’t get it, you can ask us to send you a new one straightaway.
** Your Temporary Security Number is valid for 30 days.
** If it expires you can request a new one online.

Step 5 : Create your Username
** Enter a Username, which you’ll need every time you log in to Online Banking.
** To help you remember your Username, we will default it to your email address. You can also create an alternative Username if you wish.

Your Username :
** Must be at least six characters long
** Can be letters, numbers or a mix of both
** Is not case sensitive

Step 6 : Create your personal login page
** As an additional security feature, you choose an image and enter a security phrase that will be shown every time you log in to Online Banking, so you’ll know that you’re on the real Tesco Bank website.
** Choose an image and then enter a security phrase that you’ll recognise in the future.

Your security phrase :
** Must be between 1 and 128 characters long
** Can include spaces
** Can be letters and numbers and can include any of the following characters !” ( ) -_ [ ] { } ‘ , . ; : ? \ /

Step 7 : Allow Tesco Bank to recognise your computer
** For security, every time you log in we check to see if we recognise the computer or mobile device you are using.
** This helps us identify that it’s really you logging in.
** You can choose whether or not we recognise your computer or mobile device.
** If you allow us to recognise your computer or mobile device, we store a small security token on your computer or mobile device, which lets us recognise it when you log in to Online Banking.

** The token doesn’t store any private or personal information about you or your accounts.
** If we don’t recognise your computer or mobile device when you log in, we’ll send you a One Time Access Code by text message to confirm it’s you logging in.
** If your mobile phone number is incorrect, you can update it by inserting the correct number in the Mobile Phone Number box provided.

Step 8 : Create your other security details
** Enter a six digit Security Number.
** You’ll enter two digits from your Security Number every time you log in to Online Banking.
** You will also need this if you call us.

Your Security Number :
** Must be six characters long
** Can’t be your date of birth
** Can’t be a simple pattern, for example 123456, 654321, 112233
** We’ll never ask you to enter or confirm all six digits of your Security Number.
** Choose a Password, which you’ll also use every time you log in.

Your Password :
** Must be at least seven characters long
** Must be a mix of letters and numbers
** Must not be the same as your Username
** Is case sensitive

Choose three security questions :
** These are only needed if you call us. They help us make sure it’s really you.
** Choose three different questions from the drop-down menus and enter an answer for each.
** Your answers must be at least four characters long.
** Before you finish, you’ll need to read and accept the Online Banking Terms and Conditions. You can download these in PDF format.
** Your registration is complete.

Step 9 : Continue to Online Banking
** Continue to Online Banking to view your Online Banking Overview, which shows a summary of your accounts and your last six transactions.

Mortgage customers :
** You’ll be asked to register when you get a quote or apply for a mortgage.
** To register you’ll need an email address, password and we’ll also ask you for your mobile number.
** If you forget your password in the future, we’ll text you a reminder.
** If you’re having problems registering call us on 0345 217 2050 or minicom 0345 055 0607 and we’ll help you set up an account.
** These numbers may be included as part of any inclusive call minutes provided by your phone operator.
