Prime Minister’s Interest Free Loans Scheme:

Brief Description:
Micro-finance facility aimed at helping the industry raise current access level of 2.5 million people to 5.0 million in next 5 years.

Eligibility Criteria:

Vulnerable rural and urban poor with a poverty score of up to 40
The focus of the program would be in the category of the poor scoring between 18.5 and 40. Even though double dipping will not be allowed to those who are recipients of loans under BISP, since not all those scoring up to 18.5 are BISP recipients (BISP micro-scheme or actual BISP) or taking loans under BISP umbrella, they will be eligible provided they meet other requirements of this scheme.

Focus on Women:
50% of loans will go to women borrowers.

Geographical Spread:
All over Pakistan, preferably limited and un-served areas.
The focus will be on districts with no or low microfinance network facilities. Districts in which microfinance beneficiaries are 12 percent or below as per the Micro Finance Network (MFN) data, will be given first priority

Prime Minister’s ‘Youth Business Loan’, for young entrepreneurs between the age group of 21 – 45 years, is designed to provide subsidized financing at 8.0% service charges per annum for nearly one hundred thousand (100,000) beneficiaries, through designated financial institutions namely National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) and First Women Bank Ltd. (FWBL).

    • Eligibility Criteria :
      1) Students, both male and , registered in an HEC approved educational institution are eligible for the scheme. All masters/doctoral students and 50% under-graduate students will get the laptop.
      2) Laptops will be provided to following categories of students enrolled in any public sector HEIs of Pakistan and AJK duly recognized by HEC.
      ** MS (18 year education), M.Phil. & PhD scholars in any public sector HEIs
      ** Polytechnic students
