How To Do COMELEC Registration Status Verification?

The status of a person’s registration may be electronically verified in two ways:
** Using the National List of Registered Voters (NLRV) and National List of Deactivated Voters (NLDV) at the local COMELEC offices via a computerized application, named Voter Search, which is installed in all Voter Registration Machines (VRMs); or

** Using the Precinct Finder facility in this Website;
** The Precinct Finder, since the early part of this year, has also been able to provide additional information on the status of Voter ID printing and the location of the polling center, based on data from the 2010 elections.

Status of registration record may be any one of the following:
Active, with biometrics: This means that the concerned registration record is ready for voter ID generation.
Active, without biometrics: This means that the concerned registered voter has to validate his (or her) registration record at his (or her) local COMELEC office by having his (or her) biometrics information captured using the Voter Registration Machine (VRM). After doing so, the record will be ready for voter ID generation.
Active, unrecognized biometrics: This means almost similar to the absence of biometrics. For some reason, the biometrics information in the registration record may have been corrupted, as what may happen to electronic data. In this case, you may have to go to your local COMELEC office to have your biometrics infomation recaptured.
Deactivated: This means that the concerned registered voter has to file for the reactivation of his registration record with his (or her) local COMELEC office where he (or she) is registered.
Not found in the voter database: This means that your name, as typed in, is not included in the voter database. This may be either be that the person is indeed not a registered voter yet, or a typographical error may have been entered into the voter database by your local COMELEC office. If the latter is the case, please coordinate with your local COMELEC office in order to correct this clerical error.

COMELEC Voter Registration Machine

** Pursuant to Section 8 (j) of Resolution No. 9149, the Voter Registration Machine (VRM) is simply a desktop computer, with a digital camera, fingerprint scanner and signature pad attached to it.

** Biometrics capture becomes possible with the use of these high-tech equipment, and the Voter Registration System (VRS).
** There is at least one (1) VRM for each EO’s office nationwide.
** Depending on the number of registered voters in the district, city or municipality, there may be more than one (1) VRM.

Precinct Finder Intro :
** Welcome to our VOTER REGISTRATION STATUS VERIFICATION page, which is more popularly known as the PRECINCT FINDER.

** This page intends to provide an additional way of verifying the status of a person’s voter registration record (VRR), without going to the local COMELEC office… (Well, not if he doesn’t have to.) All that is needed is the PRECINCT FINDER page, and one’s full name and date of birth, as provided when the application for registration was filed.

** However, we would like to remind everyone that this page is not meant to be the final say on who may or may not participate in the coming elections.

** The information as made available here is based on data as received from our field offices nationwide.

** Our field offices make the necessary updates on the registration records, based on the Rules and Regulations set forth by the Commission en Banc.
** Having said that, we just want to reiterate that the PRECINCT FINDER only intends to give guiding information so that voters may know what specific actions to take before the last day of the registration period prior to an election.

** The data used by the PRECINCT FINDER is as updated only as the latest data that we have received from the field.

** We only expect to receive new updates after every scheduled hearing of the Election Registration Board (ERB), which happens only four times a year, or quarterly, unless otherwise ordered by the Commission en Banc.
** In connection to this, please understand that if you apply for registration (or correction of entries, transfer, or reactivation) today, do not search for your record in the PRECINCT FINDER immediately when you get home or when you get the chance.

** All applications are still subject to approval by the ERB. Your new or updated registration record would remain in your local COMELEC office until the next ERB hearing, after which all approved applications would be submitted to us here at the main office.

** That’s the only time when new and updated records enter the preparatory process prior to PRECINCT FINDER database inclusion.
** This preparatory process includes the verification for double or multiple registrants using our Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) – but that is another story.
** Furthermore, there is a possibility that your name, date of birth, or other personal information as you know it, may have been incorrectly encoded inadvertently.

** This is called human error… and it happens.
** If this is the case, the PRECINCT FINDER will most likely give you a negative result, or a result that you may not agree with.
** You may try to be “creative” with how you input your registration details in our Form, by following some tips that we have provided here.

** What are we saying then? Use the PRECINCT FINDER as a guide, and not as the final word, on your registration status.
** If you do not agree with the results of this Search Facility, please feel free to send us an e-mail, with your registration details, at webdev AT comelec.gov.ph so that we may be able to conduct further verification.
** You can also always drop by your local COMELEC office, or give them a call, to confirm the PRECINCT FINDER results.

I’m an active voter every election. I’ve applied computerized registration (w/ biometrics) in Quezon City Comelec Office years ago. But now, I’ve tried the Precinct Finder, no data was returned?

  3. I would like to ask if I am registered already because when I tried to search for my precinct through online they send me this “Your registration details cannot be found in the COMELEC database. Please make sure that you have entered the correct details.
If you think your registration record should be active, and this SEARCH facility gives you a negative result, please verify with the local COMELEC Office where you are registered. You may also send an e-mail to the regional office or provincial office which has jurisdiction over your city/municipality of registration or to webdev@comelec.gov.ph.”
