FAQ On e-XTEND

Q1: What is e-XTEND?
A: e-XTEND is an e-service introduced by ICA that allows a foreign visitor to apply for a one-time extension of his short term visit pass on ICA website.

Q2: Who is eligible to apply for extension online?
A: If you fulfill the following conditions, you can submit an application online:
a) you are a national from these countries as listed here
b) you have not previously obtained an extension of stay on this trip

c) you wish to extend your stay for not more than 90 days from expiry of current short term visit pass
d) your short term visit pass currently has a remaining validity of not less than 2 days, excluding Sunday and public holiday

e) you will not return to Singapore within 5 days from the departure date of your current trip
Travellers who do not fulfill the above conditions would need to apply for an extension in person at the Visitor Services Centre (4th Storey) of the ICA Building.

Q3: When and how do I check on the application status?
A: If you submit your application before 5pm today, the outcome of your application will be available after 5pm on the next working day.

You can check the status of your application online via “Enquire Status” function by keying in your DE Card and travel document number or travel document number and travel document expiry date.

Alternatively, you may call ICA Call Centre at 6391 6100 giving your DE card number and travel document number.

Q4: Since there is no physical endorsement on my passport, what should I do if I am checked by the police/authority?
A: You are advised to attach the approval slip to your passport if checked by the police and for departure.

Q5: If the online application is rejected, can I try to submit another online application again?
A: When you apply online, you have agreed that you will not seek further extension irrespective of the outcome of the online application.

You should not submit another online application if your earlier application had been rejected since each application would have been processed carefully.

Please note that overstaying is an immigration offence in Singapore. If you overstay past the validity of your immigration pass, you may be subjected to a composition fine or prosecution in court.

Q6: What should I do if I lost the approval slip and Disembarkation/Embarkation card?
A: To facilitate your departure, you can print another approval slip via the Enquiry Function of the system by keying in your travel document number and the travel document expiry date.

Please be assured that Immigration officer will be able to check on the validity of your short term visit pass even if you do not have the approval slip and DE card on hand at the point of departure.
