Mexican Passport :

A Mexican passport is a travel document and official identification. Outside of Mexico, it is the most widely accepted way to identify the holder. You can request a passport for the first time or renew your passport.

Mexican passports with a validity of three or six years will be issued to Mexicans of legal age and minors between the 3 & 17 years of age.

How to Obtain a Mexican Passport :
In accordance with the modification of the passport rules and regulations, passports valid for up to one year apply to :
** Children three years of age or less;
** Individuals who require urgent medical or psychological attention; and
** Individuals abroad who avail themselves of consular protection.

Note :
** Please note that all Mexican passports issued prior to January 1, 2008 that have not yet expired will be valid until the indicated expiration date.
** Lastly, all Mexican citizens interested in obtaining or renewing their Mexican passport are reminded that they can request an appointment via the MEXITEL service by calling 1-877-639-4835 free of charge or by going to the closest office.

Requirements for the issuance of a Mexican passport :
Personal Attendance at the Consular Section of the Embassy

Proof of Mexican Citizenship through any of the following documents :
a) A certified copy of the Mexican Birth Certificate
b) Certificate of Mexican Nationality
c) Naturalization Card
d) Declaración de Nacionalidad Mexicana por Nacimiento
e) Certificado de Matricula Consular de Alta Seguridad

Valid Official Identification showing the applicant’s photo and signature :
** Previous Mexican Passport (with a photocopy of the first three pages and of the last page), Mexican voting card.
** Three (3) identical recent color photographs : full face, measuring (4.5 x 3.5 cm), taken against a white background with unobstructed forehead and ears and without eyeglasses. These photos must be taken with a maximum of thirty days prior to submitting the application.
** These Documents Should Be Submitted Along With Their Corresponding Photocopies (A-4 Size)
** For the issuance of a passport to a Mexican national below the age of 18, an OP-7 form (the official parental document of consent) should be also filled. Both parents must accompany the minor to submit the passport application and sign the OP-7 form; each parent must submit an official identification showing signature and photograph (i.e. valid passport), along with its corresponding photocopy.
** In case one of the child’s parents is outside of Lebanon, the father/mother should go to the closest delegation of the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Mexico or the closest Consular office in order to fill out and sign the OP-7 Format that the office would send by e-mail to the Embassy in Lebanon.
** In case one of the parents has the child’s custody, he/she is required to prove it through the corresponding legal document.

Consular Fees :

** Mexican 1-year expiration passport : USD$32.00
** Mexican 3-year expiration passport : USD$74.00
** Mexican 6-year expiration passport : USD$101.00
** Mexican 10-year expiration passport : USD$136.00
** Only the exact amount of fees, in US dollars and in cash shall be accepted.

Notes :
** The process of issuance or renewal of a Mexican passport takes approximately two months.
** Mexican nationals below the age of three (3), can only apply for a 1-year expiration passport.
** Mexican nationals below the age of eighteen cannot apply for a 10-year expiration passport.
** In the case of lost or theft of a passport, the requisites from 1 to 6 should be presented along with the original and photocopy of the police certificate issued by the Lebanese authorities of theft or loss of the passport.
