Vehicles Department :
In the Vehicles Department the following activities are performed :
** Implementing the international Agreement Concerning the Adoption of Uniform Technical Prescriptions for Wheeled Vehicles, Equipment and Parts which can be Fitted and/or be Used on Wheeled Vehicles and the Conditions for Reciprocal Recognition of Approvals Granted on the Basis of these Prescriptions (Geneva Convention 1958)

** Supervision of type-approval tests and conformity of vehicles, equipment and parts based on UN regulations and issuing of relevant Type-approval certificates;
** Issuing of certificates for customs clearance of new vehicles, equipment and parts and issuing of certificates for customs clearance of used vehicles;

** Providing database on technical characteristics for motor vehicles and trailers significant for application of road traffic safety regulations
** Tasks related to issuing of licenses (permits)
** Keeping a register of issued licenses and permits

** Tasks related to digital and analogue tachographs (granting type-approval to model record sheet, tachograph cards and control devices; approvals of workshops, licensing technicians to carry out tasks related to tachographs and conducting procedures for choosing manufacturer of cards and access to TACHOnet network);

** Keeping and archiving data and documents filed in register in written and electronic form; other tasks within the scope of the department;

** Cooperation with the European Integration Office in activities for implementing the National Programme for the Adoption of the Acquis (NPAA) in process of accession of the Republic of Serbia to the European Union;

** Organizing refresher training for periodic roadworthiness test inspectors;
** Knowledge testing for periodic roadworthiness test inspectors;
** Conducting a professional exam for periodic roadworthiness test inspectors.

Certifications of trainers :
** During a two-year period, June 2012 – October 2014, the Road Traffic Safety Agency has organized over 70 seminars for knowledge improvement of drivers with revoked driving license in 15 cities in the Republic of Serbia.

** As the number of the drivers with the revoked driving license is growing, it has become necessary to certify new educators, and organize new seminars in the cities where they haven’t been organized.

** The Road Traffic Safety Agency organized the first certification of educators for working with drivers with revoked driving license, and in the next period the second Seminar for special training of educators for work with drivers with revoked driving license for acquiring Special training certificate for working with drivers with revoked driving license.

About RTSA :
In order to establish the road traffic safety system the purpose of which will primarily be prevention, and removal of consequences incurred during the operation of that kind of traffic, the Government of the Republic of Serbia founded the Road Traffic Safety Agency In December 2009, which practically commenced its work on September 1, 2010.

The Law also stipulates foundation of the Road Traffic Safety Coordination Body, which is to establish the traffic safety strategic management.

Professional Activities :
** Professional activities are connected to the road traffic safety, in compliance with requirements of the effective and safe transportation system development;

Developmental Activities :
The Agency has been established in order to provide road traffic development – safety :
** to improve the road traffic safety system
** to carry out professional developmental activities
** to improve services of the Agency and
** to pass measures and instructions in compliance with its authorizations;

Regulatory Activities :
** Regulatory activities include publishing, that is preparation of drafts of particular general enactments, regulating and stipulating legal relations of wider importance as well as passing of particular general enactments.
